The Eisacktal/Val d‘Isarco is one of the main valleys of South Tyrol. It‘s winding for about 80 km from the Brennerpass/Passo Brennero, one of the most important alpine passes, along the cities of Sterzing/Vipiteno, Brixen/Bressanone and Klausen/Chiusa to the south tyrolean capital Bozen/Bolzano. Because of their strategic situation and the passing commerciants and aristocrats the cities and villages of Eisacktal/Val d‘isarco became very wealthy since the medieval age. The Eisacktal/Val d‘Isarco is a valley with high diversity and many cultural treasures. Many picturesque valleys such as Ratschings/Racines, Ridnaun/Ridanna, Jaufental/Val di Giovo, Vilnöss/Val di Funes, Pflerschertal/Val di Fleres, Pfunderer Tal/Val di Fundres, Lüsen/Val Luson, Gröden/Val Gardena, Pustertal/Val Pusteria and Pfitschtal/Val di Vizze are in adjacency of Eisacktal/Val d’Isarco. The Valley is the starting point of many hiking tours in the Dolomites (UNESCO-World Heritage). Every Fall/Autumn many Tourists and Inhabitants are coming into the Eisacktal/Val d’Isarco to taste – the south tyrolean tradition – Törggelen.
