Hochpustertal / Alta Pusteria
Hochpustertal/Alta Pusteria is located - as said in the name - in the rear part of Pustertal/Val Pusteria, one of the main valleys in eastern South Tyrol. In Hochpustertal/Alta Pusteria you can stay for your holidays in Sexten/Sesto, Innichen/San Candido, Toblach/Dobbiaco, Pragser Tal/Val Braies and Niederdorf/Villa Bassa. In the marvellous Fischleintal/Val Fiscalino near Sexten/Sesto you can hike along the solar clock of Sexten/Sesto to one of the most famous Dolomite summits the Drei Zinnen/Tre Cime di Lavaredo. In Pragser Tal/Val di Braies you can reach the famous Pragser Wildsee/Lago di Braies with the majestic Seekofel/Croda del Becco. Hochpustertal/Alta Pusteria is playing with contrasts: green on the meadows and forests and the white dolomite rocks on the mountains. Toblach/Dobbiaco, the highest Village of Pustertal/Val Pusteria, is a perfect starting point for bike tours in direction west along the river Rienz/Rienza through the Pustertal/Val Pusteria or direction east along the river Drau/Drava – one of the longest rivers of Europe, is rising in this area - down to Eastern Tyrol, Austria. Or bike direction south to Cortina d’Ampezzo and Belluno. Every year the ski cross-country World Cup-Relay „Tour de Ski“ is passing in Toblach/Dobbiaco.
